Warrenton Rural Vol. Fire Dept.
Warrenton Rural Vol. Fire Dept.—officially the Warrenton Rural Voluntary Fire Association, Inc.—is a private, non-profit Section 501(c)(3) corporation serving the Town of Warrenton and the Central Warren Fire District, including the unincorporated communities of Liberia, Marmaduke, Oakville, Perrytown, Snow Hill, and Warren Plains.
Warrenton is the county seat of Warren County and is roughly one square mile with a population of just over 800 people.
Warrenton Rural Vol. Fire Dept. serves a primary response area of 70 square miles. Automatic mutual aid is given to seven neighboring fire departments necessitating response to an additional 143 square miles. Also, Warrenton Rural Vol. Fire Dept's heavy rescue truck and 95’ aerial are available to other area agencies upon request.
Warrenton Rural Vol. Fire Dept. maintains a fire station on South Main Street and has seven emergency vehicles (see Fire Apparatus) for the purposes of responding to emergency operations including calls for fire suppression, rescue operations, and first responders.
Warrenton Rural Vol. Fire Dept. currently has about 30 volunteer members—plus junior firefighters, and auxiliary personnel—who respond to calls 24-hours a day, many of whom are certified firefighters, rescue technicians, or medical responders.
Warrenton Rural Vol. Fire Dept. has an ISO 3 rating in the Town of Warrenton and an ISO 5/9E rating in the Central Warren Fire District.
Warrenton Rural Vol. Fire Dept. is financially supported through a mixture of funding from a Central Warren District fire tax, Warren County government, Town of Warrenton government, grants, fundraisers, and donations from local businesses and private citizens.
